Commonly known as the Happy or Laughing Buddha, and traditionally known as Ho Tai (Budai, Hotai, Hotei). He represents good luck, happiness and prosperity, noted by his cheerful face, elongated earlobes (for wisdom) and round belly (a sign of wealth). In this particular sculpture he holds a bag of goodies and wearing a rosary necklace (symbolic of prayer).
