The protection Buddha bestows blessings with his right hand raised, facing outwards. This mudra (gesture) is commonly viewed as a gesture of a shield. The other hand extends out, offering courage and protection from fear, delusion and anger. You can place these Buddhas in any space where you need blessing or protection.
